Danantara Officially Joins Global Sovereign Wealth Fund Association
Danantara Investment Management (DIM) has been registered as an Associate Member of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF) since the beginning of this year. This move demonstrates a commitment to implementing international practices in the management of the state-owned investment manager. As an Associate Member, DIM joins a global network of SWFs dedicated to upholding the Santiago Principles, a set of 24 internationally recognised principles and practices for sovereign wealth fund governance, investment, and risk management. Danantara Indonesia Chief Investment Officer Pandu Sjahrir stated that IFSWF membership opens opportunities for DIM to engage in knowledge exchange with leading SWFs worldwide, participate in various insight-sharing programmes organised by the Forum, and align its governance framework with global standards to ensure the highest levels of transparency and accountability. “Joining IFSWF reflects Danantara Indonesia’s commitment to world-class governance, transparency, and accountability. As Indonesia’s national asset manager, we are determined to build an institution that meets the highest international standards so that we can carry out our investment mandate for the Indonesian people,” Pandu said in a written statement on Thursday (16/7/2026). IFSWF Chief Executive Duncan Bonfield said the organisation was pleased to welcome Danantara Indonesia as a member. “Since its establishment, Danantara Indonesia has demonstrated a strong commitment to good governance, professionalism, and transparency, and will be a valuable member of our community,” Bonfield added. Going forward, Danantara Indonesia intends to use this Associate Member status as a foundation to deepen engagement with the global community of sovereign investors within the Forum, including through efforts to align with the Santiago Principles self-assessment process as part of strengthening institutional governance.
