Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Investment Management Agency (BPI) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara), through Danantara Investment Management (DIM), has established a new state-owned enterprise in the clean energy sector, namely PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Persero) or DENERA.

Lead of Waste-to-Energy/Director of Investment at Danantara Investment Management, Fadli Rahman, revealed that the red-plate company, formed on 1 April 2026, was created to manage Waste-to-Energy Electricity (PSEL) or Waste-to-Energy (WtE) projects.

“And then Danantara Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara, or we abbreviate it as DENERA,” he stated during a press conference at Wisma Danantara in Jakarta on Thursday (9/4/2026).

“Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara is a company newly formed by Danantara Investment Management on 1 April 2026, with a focus on implementing the PSEL programme,” he said during the media briefing at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta, on Thursday (9/4/2026).

Fadli further explained that DENERA also holds the share ownership portion as well as the operations and management of all PSL projects. The share ownership portion of Danantara in the development of WTE projects partnered with technology provider companies is 30%. Meanwhile, 70% is owned by the partner consortium company.

Fadli stated that for each WTE project, the investment value reaches Rp2.5 trillion to Rp2.8 trillion. “So the investment ranges from Rp2.5 to Rp2.8 trillion, because the capacity is quite large in several locations, almost Rp2.8 trillion,” he concluded.

In addition, he continued, DENERA was formed as an integrated waste management company. Besides managing WTE projects, the company will also be involved in improving the waste management process in Indonesia.

“So we will also work to improve waste management, upstream as well, to TPSR, TPS3R, TPST, and so on,” said Fadli.

For information, the initial stage of the WTE project will start in 3 cities, namely in Bali, Bogor, and Bekasi. In the first stage, there are 8 companies that won the tender from 24 companies in the list of technology providers (DPT).
