Danantara Officially Acquires Four State-Owned Investment Managers with Combined AUM of Rp170 Trillion
PT Danantara Asset Management (DAM) has officially taken control of four state-owned investment management companies following the signing of a Share Purchase Agreement on 22 July 2026. The four acquired firms are PT Mandiri Manajemen Investasi, PT BRI Manajemen Investasi, PT BNI Asset Management, and PT PNM Investment Management. Collectively, they manage assets under management (AUM) exceeding Rp170 trillion as of June 2026. Danantara Indonesia’s Chief Operating Officer, Dony Oskaria, stated that the acquisition is not merely a share purchase transaction but a strategic move to build new strength in the national investment management industry. ‘Danantara Indonesia will ensure that all this strength is channelled through improved strategy and governance so that it can grow stronger, more competitive, and provide greater added value for the Indonesian economy,’ Dony said. He revealed that within the next month, the four investment management companies will be merged into a single entity, which is claimed to be the largest asset management company in Indonesia. ‘This process is part of the streamlining being carried out by Danantara Indonesia,’ Dony added. Through an integrated business model, the consolidated company is targeted to expand investment access for both retail and institutional investors, while offering more competitive investment solutions tailored to market needs. PT Mandiri Manajemen Investasi President Director Hardiyanto Pilia assessed that the consolidation forms an important foundation for building a national investment management institution with greater scale and governance. In the retail segment, the merged company will develop thematic investment products and expand distribution through the networks of state-owned banks. PT BRI Manajemen Investasi President Director Arief Budiman noted that the merger is a strategic momentum to deepen retail market penetration, with BRI MI managing an AUM of Rp52.61 trillion as of June 2026. Meanwhile, PT BNI Asset Management President Director Ade Santoso Djajanegara expressed optimism that the merger would strengthen national investment management capacity through synergised investment expertise, product innovation, and a more solid and competitive business scale. DAM stated that the integration process will be carried out in stages, prioritising prudential principles, regulatory compliance, and service continuity for clients and business partners.
