Danantara Merges Four State-Owned Asset Management Firms
The transformation of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) continues with a strategic consolidation move by Danantara. Danantara has merged four state-owned asset management companies into a single, more integrated entity. The four entities involved in the merger are PNM Investment Management, BNI Asset Management, Mandiri Manajemen Investasi, which acts as the surviving entity, and BRI Manajemen Investasi. This merger aims to trigger efficiency improvements, enhance governance, and boost the productivity of state assets. Danantara is targeting more professional portfolio management to increase investment appeal and economic growth. The significant decision was agreed upon in a meeting held on Tuesday, 7 July 2026. The meeting was attended by Danantara CEO and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani, Danantara COO and Head of BP BUMN Dony Oskaria, and Danantara CIO Pandu Sjahrir. Through this integration, Danantara will oversee the largest asset management company in Indonesia. The new entity is designed to strengthen institutional structures, optimise asset utilisation, and provide a greater economic contribution to national development. ‘Streamlining is not the end goal. The most important thing is how the reorganised BUMN assets can be managed more optimally, more productively, and truly create added value for the country,’ said Dony in a written statement on Tuesday, 7 July 2026. By establishing this largest asset management company, Danantara reaffirms its commitment to building a value-creation-oriented system. This step is expected to strengthen investor confidence while accelerating national economic growth.
