The transformation of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) continues. Danantara is merging four state-owned asset management companies into a single entity as part of efforts to strengthen the management of state assets. The four entities are PNM Investment Management, BNI Asset Management, Mandiri Investment Management (surviving entity), and BRI Investment Management. This consolidation step is expected to create a more integrated, efficient, and professional asset management system, whilst increasing the economic value of state assets. The decision was taken at a meeting on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, attended by Danantara CEO and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani, Danantara COO and Head of BUMN Dony Oskaria, and Danantara CIO Pandu Sjahrir. During the meeting, Danantara leaders agreed to the merger of the four asset management companies as a strategic step to strengthen the institutional structure and asset management under Danantara. Through this merger, Danantara will have the largest asset management company in Indonesia, capable of integrating asset portfolios, strengthening capabilities and governance, increasing management efficiency, and enhancing investment appeal. This consolidation is also expected to optimise the utilisation of state assets to provide greater added value and economic contribution to national development. ‘Streamlining is not the end goal. The most important thing is how the restructured BUMN assets can be managed more optimally, more productively, and truly create added value for the country,’ said Dony in a written statement on Tuesday, 7 July 2026. Through the formation of the largest asset management company in Indonesia, Danantara affirms its commitment to building a state asset management system that is more integrated, professional, and value-creation oriented. This step is expected to increase the productivity of BUMN assets, strengthen investor confidence, and provide a greater contribution to national economic growth.
