Danantara Keeps LRT City Construction on Track While Offering Consumers Refunds
Danantara has confirmed that consumers can still request refunds for LRT City properties even as work to complete the developments continues.
Danantara Chief Operating Officer and Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN), Dony Oskaria, said consumers could decide which option best suited them.
“We leave it to consumers to choose what is best, because we have no problem with either option. Even if many people request refunds, that is not a problem; construction will continue,” Dony said in Jakarta on Thursday (8 October 2026).
Dony said the LRT City projects were in strategic locations and therefore should be completed. Work to finish the developments began in early October 2026, he said, adding that Danantara was emphasising construction quality.
“The locations are very good, with easy access, and we will equip them with facilities including commercial areas, which Danantara will develop in the future,” Dony said.
“I have stressed to the entire team that the quality must be good, because this concerns our reputation,” he added.
According to Dony, improving project management is part of the transformation of state-owned enterprises being pursued by the government. He said the handling of consumer funds must go hand in hand with responsibility for completing construction.
“This is why it is important to transform our state-owned enterprises and make clear all the mistakes of the past. State-owned enterprises can no longer operate like that — taking people’s money and then failing to build. In my view, that is unacceptable,” Dony said.
On completion targets, Dony said Danantara was waiting for detailed project timelines for each LRT City development.
“I need to check, because the team has just come in and started organising things and drawing up the project timelines. I may have them next week, showing how long each project will take to complete,” he said.
Danantara had previously called for the LRT City issues to be resolved comprehensively, while prioritising consumers’ rights and interests.
According to a review by Adhi Karya, around 3,000 of the approximately 5,400 LRT City units sold have been handed over to consumers.
