Danantara Indonesia Trust has secured initial funding of $100 million, equivalent to approximately Rp1.77 trillion. Going forward, the trust is targeted to receive at least 1% of the dividends from state-owned enterprises (SOEs) managed by Danantara Indonesia annually. The funds will be directed towards supporting sustainable social programs in healthcare, education, culture, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). CEO of Danantara Indonesia and Trust founder Rosan Roeslani stated, ‘We aim to allocate at least 1% of the total dividends received from all state-owned enterprises each year,’ during the launch of Danantara Indonesia Trust’s strategic partnership in Jakarta, as reported by Antara on Monday, 25 May 2026. He noted the institution was established as a credible, professional, transparent philanthropic entity with strong governance. He added that Danantara Indonesia is collaborating with the Gates Foundation to develop institutional frameworks and strengthen philanthropic governance. ‘How we make Danantara Trust a credible, relevant, and transparent institution with high governance,’ he said. Danantara Indonesia Trust was officially established in October 2025 as Danantara Indonesia’s philanthropic unit, mandated to drive sustainable social development impact in Indonesia. The institution is expected not only to distribute funds but also act as a catalyst and ecosystem enabler to strengthen cross-sector social collaboration. ‘We hope this is just the beginning. Insha’allah, we will collaborate with more partners in the future,’ Rosan said. Chair of Danantara Indonesia Trust, Nuraini Razak, said the organisation is building governance systems, organisational structures, oversight mechanisms, and a monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) framework to ensure program effectiveness. ‘We believe this long-term mandate can be credibly executed if built with robust governance from the outset,’ Nuraini added. She added that Danantara Indonesia Trust is actively engaging with sovereign wealth funds, philanthropic organisations, and national and global development partners to strengthen collaboration models. In its first partnership, the institution allocated approximately Rp250 billion for maternal and child health programmes, including hexavalent vaccine procurement, strengthening vaccine cold chain infrastructure, and micronutrient supplements for pregnant and postpartum women. Additionally, a collaboration with the Karya Salemba Empat Foundation includes a three-year scholarship programme for around 500 underprivileged students. Meanwhile, the partnership with the Museum and Cultural Heritage focuses on developing libraries and public learning spaces at the National Museum.
