IQPlus, 26 May 2026 - Danantara Indonesia Trust (DIT) has launched three inaugural strategic partnerships in health, education, and cultural literacy as part of strengthening philanthropy and sustainable social development programmes in Indonesia. The partnerships were marked by the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between Danantara Indonesia Trust and the Ministry of Health, Karya Salemba Four Foundation, and the Indonesia Heritage Agency (Museum and Cultural Heritage). ’ Danantara Indonesia was established not only to manage state assets and investments but also to contribute to Indonesia’s social progress,’ said Rosan Roeslani, CEO of the State Investment Management Agency (Danantara) and Chairman of Danantara Indonesia Trust, in Jakarta on Monday. He added that Danantara Indonesia Trust was formed to expand Danantara Indonesia’s social contributions beyond state asset and investment management. According to him, Danantara Indonesia Trust will focus on health, education, culture, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Rosan also stated that Danantara Indonesia is collaborating with the Gates Foundation to build a credible, professional, transparent, and well-governed philanthropic institution. He emphasised that programmes are expected to deliver positive, sustainable, and lasting social impacts for communities. ‘Through Danantara Indonesia Trust, we are expanding our mission to strengthen human capital and address societal challenges, as we believe long-term value creation must go hand-in-hand with tangible societal impact,’ Rosan said. In the health partnership, Danantara Indonesia Trust supports maternal and child health programmes through hexavalent vaccine provisions, strengthening vaccine cold chains, and providing multiple micronutrient supplements for pregnant and postpartum mothers to help prevent stunting. Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that the initial support from Danantara Indonesia Trust for health programmes amounts to approximately Rp250 billion ($15 million). ‘These three forms of assistance total around Rp250 billion or $15 million from Danantara Trust,’ Budi said. He added that philanthropic support is needed to strengthen national health financing and can catalyse additional funding from international donor agencies.
