Danantara Indonesia Partners with JBIC to Develop Green Economy Projects
Danantara Indonesia has partnered with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) to develop green economy projects in Indonesia. Danantara and JBIC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) opening up green economy financing opportunities in the country.
Under the MoU, both parties will identify and jointly develop various priority projects focusing on decarbonisation and the circular economy, including renewable energy, electricity transmission, and water and wastewater management. Additionally, there are sustainable digital infrastructure projects such as green data centres and healthcare services.
The agreement also opens up the availability of various financial instruments including loans, equity, guarantees, and other bespoke solutions to support the development of large-scale strategic projects across Indonesia.
Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Roeslani said the partnership with JBIC represents a strong signal of international confidence in Indonesia's green transition agenda.
"At Danantara Indonesia, we are committed to mobilising strategic investment that supports national priorities whilst meeting global standards for sustainability, impact, and governance," Rosan said in a press statement on Saturday (12 July 2025).
Rosan noted that the MoU signed between Danantara and JBIC adds another milestone to Danantara Indonesia's international partnership strategy. He affirmed that Danantara will continue to advance Indonesia's long-term development agenda through innovative and sustainable investment, in connection with the various flagship projects that have been facilitated during the first half of this year.
