TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Danantara Indonesia Investment Management Agency has formed a new company named PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Denera) on April 1, 2026. Denera is a subsidiary of PT Danantara Investment Management, which aims to manage the Waste-to-Energy (PSEL) Processing project.
“Later, Denera will handle the shares and operational and management of all PSEL under Danantara Investment Management,” said the Director of Investment at PT Danantara Investment Management, Fadli Rahman, in a discussion at Wisma Danantara on Thursday, April 9, 2026.
Fadli stated that Denera would be an integrated company in waste management. The management would also be responsible for transporting waste from various temporary storage places (TSPs) and educating the public about better waste management practices.
Danantara’s goal is to gradually improve waste management in society, from the beginning to the end of the process. The mounting pile of waste is being reduced and ending up in Final Processing Sites (TPA) or in random places.
“In the future, we will also focus on using waste other than household waste, such as industrial waste,” said Fadli.
Managing Director of Stakeholders Management & Communications at Danantara Indonesia, Rohan Hafas, said that Denera would also participate in the site feasibility assessment process for PSEL development. The company will work with the Ministry of Environment in considering the readiness and commitment of local governments.
“Yes, we will work together with the Ministry of Environment,” he said on the same occasion.
Currently, the PSEL project is located in Bogor Raya and Denpasar Raya, managed by Danantara’s partner company from China, Zhejiang Weiming Environment Protection Co., Ltd. It is also present in Bekasi, managed by Wangneng Environment Co., Ltd.
