Danantara Indonesia Establishes Integrated Waste Management Company
Danantara Indonesia has announced the establishment of PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (PT Denera), an integrated waste management company that also serves as a holding entity for all implementing entities of Waste-to-Energy or Waste Management into Electricity (PSEL) projects in Indonesia. PT Denera was officially formed on 1 April 2026.
PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM) has established PT Denera as a holding entity that consolidates all investment activities, development, and operations of PSEL projects in various regions of Indonesia.
In this structure, PT Denera will act as the holding company for each Waste-to-Energy Developer and Manager Business Entity (BUPP), where each BUPP is a joint venture between PT Denera and selected partner consortia.
Danantara Indonesia aims to strengthen the efficiency of project management, attract participation from domestic and global investors, and promote technology transfer in comprehensive waste processing.
“The establishment of PT Denera represents Danantara Indonesia’s commitment to building a strong and transparent institutional structure for integrated waste management in Indonesia. With PT Denera, we can ensure operational standards, investment governance, and coordination with domestic and international partners run more effectively and accountably,” said Pandu Patria Sjahrir, Chief Investment Officer of Danantara Indonesia, on Thursday (9/4/2026).
The founding of PT Denera aligns with the mandate of Presidential Regulation No. 109 of 2025 regarding urban waste handling through waste-to-renewable energy management based on environmentally friendly technology, as well as the Indonesian Government’s vision to build cleaner, more resilient, and sustainable cities.
Danantara Indonesia’s PSEL programme targets the construction of waste-to-electricity energy facilities in several cities across Indonesia.
“With PT Denera, we are creating a structured and highly competitive investment platform. PT Denera will also serve as a catalyst for upstream waste management and handle various types of waste,” added Pandu.
Danantara Indonesia is committed to promoting integrated waste management solutions that create long-term value for the environment and communities in various regions of Indonesia.
