The Head of the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara), Rosan Roeslani, has announced that Danantara Housing will build subsidised flats (rusun) for low-income communities (MBR) on a land grant in the Meikarta area, Bekasi Regency, West Java. “We will have Danantara Housing that will build. And of course, the financing will be with the banking sector. And this is most important, we will also calculate exactly how much so that the instalments are not burdensome and can truly be afforded by low-income communities,” Rosan said in Jakarta on Monday. He stated that as the executor of the development and financing, Danantara has coordinated and cooperated with relevant parties to prepare the planning, targets, and implementation, so that everything can proceed according to plan and on time. Because what is being built are subsidised flats for the MBR segment, he said the price must be affordable. “And not only starting from the housing construction itself, but we are also providing financing, both financing for the project itself and also financing for low-income communities, so they can gain financial access from the banking sector,” Rosan said. Danantara, he continued, wants to examine all aspects so that the project can proceed and also align with the direction and instructions of President Prabowo Subianto. Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait said the land grant in the Meikarta area, Bekasi Regency, West Java, is being utilised for the construction of decent and affordable housing for the people. According to him, the financing for the construction of the subsidised flats in the Meikarta area comes from Danantara. He said the Ministry of PKP’s position in the programme is as a policy maker or regulator. The financing and construction are carried out through Danantara, while the land is a grant from PT Lippo Cikarang covering 30 hectares across three locations. According to him, the project is planned to provide a total of around 141,000 units for low-income communities from the three prepared land sites. He said this subsidised housing is one of the largest vertical housing projects expected to help working people have decent homes near economic and industrial centres.
