Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Danantara’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Pandu Sjahrir has spoken out regarding the option to increase ownership of shares in PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO). According to him, they are currently awaiting a strategy or plan for adding to the ownership. “We haven’t thought that far ahead yet; we’ll see. Once there’s a game plan, we’ll communicate it to the public,” said Pandu at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Food, on Monday (11/5/2026). Pandu also explained that the purchase of GOTO shares is an investment decision, expected to generate profit. “Continuing from Mr Rosan’s statement yesterday, we’ll just see; it’s just an investment, and we believe it should yield good profits. There’s no other addition to that,” said Pandu. It is known that, according to GOTO’s management, the portion of shares purchased represents less than 1% of those issued by the company. The purchase was made through the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Previously, Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani explained that Danantara’s entry into GOTO aims to improve the welfare of drivers. The welfare in question includes efforts to provide Employment BPJS, Health BPJS, as well as higher Holiday Assistance (BHR). “That’s why policies that benefit ride-hailing drivers were born. And it aligns with the President’s, because Tokopedia has always been loss-making, but this year, this quarter, it started to profit. And for the BHR last time, it was actually us who suggested doubling the THR. That was from us too,” said Rosan.
