Danantara: Global Investors Still Show Investment Commitment in Indonesia
Investment and Downstreaming Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani, has revealed that global investors continue to show commitment and confidence in investing in the country. This is evident from the Long Term Commitment agreements that have been made for some time. Rosan stated that this commitment continues to this day, even though various issues in the country have become public sentiment and concern. “From the investments entering Indonesia, I believe this will be maintained. Because when they invest, they look at it as a long-term commitment,” Rosan said when met at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Monday. On that occasion, he also revealed that agreements regarding global investment in Indonesia will continue to be explored and realised. Rosan, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Danantara Indonesia, disclosed the high interest of global investors in the national investment realisation figures for the first quarter of 2026. This data was presented amid the elected President’s directive to disclose information regarding the level of international investor confidence in Indonesia. Rosan Roeslani stated that amid ongoing geopolitical dynamics, Indonesia’s investment realisation from January to March 2026 reached Rp 498.8 trillion. This achievement grew by approximately 7.2% year-on-year compared to the same period the previous year. Furthermore, investment realisation in the first quarter of this year has reached approximately 24.4% of the 2026 national investment target. “Amid global geopolitical and economic dynamics, investment realisation during the first quarter of 2026 reached Rp 498.8 trillion,” Rosan said. Based on its composition, foreign investment or Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) remained the largest contributor to national investment realisation, although the margin was very slim compared to domestic investment. Domestic Direct Investment (PMDN) realisation reached approximately Rp 248.8 trillion, equivalent to 49.9% of total national investment, growing by about 6% year-on-year. Meanwhile, Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) contributed approximately 50.1% with a value reaching Rp 250 trillion. This data shows that investment in Indonesia at the beginning of 2026 was still dominated by foreign capital, while also reflecting the high confidence of international investors in the national economic prospects.
