Jakarta – Danantara Indonesia has reaffirmed that it will continue to honour export contracts already agreed with its business partners, even after the formation of a new state-owned export entity, PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI).

CEO Rosan Roeslani said the core principle is to respect all agreements, or the sanctity of contracts that business actors have signed. However, the pricing terms in those contracts will be revisited. ‘We will respect all contracts that exist,’ he said at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs in Jakarta on Thursday, 21 May 2026.

He explained that price evaluation is necessary because, in long-term contracts, the price of commodities set at signing is not typically fixed until the contract ends; instead, it may be adjusted periodically in line with market conditions at the time of each transaction. ‘What we look at is that even though they are long-term contracts, the price determination is not fixed at that moment. So when those contracts commence, we will see whether the contract price is below the world market index, and we will review accordingly,’ Rosan said.

The policy forms part of a broader overhaul of export governance, including tighter oversight of under-invoicing practices and reporting prices lower than actual transaction values. ‘So we will respect the sanctity of the contract. But what I want to convey is that if we see indications of under-invoicing, we will of course review the contract,’ he said.

PT DSI will examine export documents to prevent under-invoicing. This stage will run for six months, from 1 June to 31 December 2026.

In the second phase, the company will become a trader by purchasing strategic natural resource commodities from domestic exporters. The commodities will then be sold by PT DSI to buyers in the global market.
