Danantara Confirms LRT City Construction Commences Today
The Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) has confirmed that the construction of the LRT City project, which had previously stalled, will commence today, 1 October 2026.
Dony Oskaria, COO of Danantara Indonesia and Head of the State-Owned Enterprise Management Agency (BP BUMN), stated that his office has held meetings with the Minister of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, regarding the matter.
“As promised, construction will begin on 1 October. We are committed to this,” he said, as reported on Thursday (1/10/2026).
Furthermore, Dony noted that the resolution for consumers will be tailored to their individual circumstances. Options for settlement include full refunds or the delivery of the purchased units.
Regarding the refund scheme, Dony mentioned that recalculations involving banking institutions are necessary. “If the instalments have not been completed, there will naturally be disputes that we are concerned about. It would be unfortunate, as there are interest components involved,” he added.
For context, Danantara has also ensured that the LRT City project, developed by PT Adhi Commuter Properti Tbk (ADCP), will undergo a redesign and a restructuring of its business model to accelerate completion.
The LRT City project will undergo design adjustments, including the facade and commercial areas, and will involve new architects to support the project’s reconfiguration.
“First and foremost, the decision is to proceed with this project. We will hire new architects to manage the process. The facade will be changed, as will the business model, including the commercial areas,” Dony stated, quoting the official Instagram account of BP BUMN on Wednesday (30/9/2026).
Dony explained that from a business perspective, the project is still considered to have potential because it involves valuable land assets located in strategic areas. Consequently, the project’s restructuring is aimed not only at completing construction but also at ensuring its long-term sustainability and commercial feasibility.
Beyond the business aspects, he noted that resolving the LRT City project is part of an effort to provide certainty to members of the public who have purchased units and are awaiting completion.
Danantara is encouraging the construction process to resume with a more directed approach, focusing on the quality of the project’s completion.
Dony emphasised that the decision to continue the project is not based solely on commercial considerations, but also takes into account the responsibility towards consumers.
“I hope our decision is a good one. This is a decision that is not merely about commercial interests. Therefore, the first step is to immediately find the necessary personnel,” said Dony.
Through this decision, Danantara is directing the resolution of LRT City to ensure that the project is not only commercially oriented but also continues properly, providing certainty for consumers who have been waiting for their homes to be completed.
