Danantara Completes 324 Housing Units for Senen Railway-Side Residents, Ready for Occupancy
BP BUMN Chief and Danantara COO Dony Oskaria stated that the government’s efforts to provide decent and safe housing for the public continue to show positive progress. Dony announced that 324 housing units for residents of the railway-side area in Senen have been completed, with progress reaching 100 per cent. “This programme is a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to reorganise railway-side areas, improve public safety, and provide more liveable housing through collaboration with various parties,” Dony said during a meeting with Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait and BP BUMN Deputy for Facilitation and Development Synergy Hambra in Jakarta, Tuesday (9/6/2026). Dony conveyed that the operational readiness and utilisation of the completed housing in the Senen area were the focus of the meeting. He said the discussion centred on completing the final stages before occupancy, including the readiness of supporting facilities, area management, and strengthening inter-agency coordination to ensure the relocation process and housing utilisation proceed smoothly. “These steps are taken so that the beneficiary community can immediately occupy new housing that is safe, comfortable, and supports an improved quality of life,” Dony continued. Apart from providing more decent housing, Dony stated that the residential area is also equipped with various supporting facilities designed to meet the community’s daily needs, including a mosque, children’s playground, toilets, communal kitchen, public facilities, and water tanks. Dony expressed hope that the presence of these facilities would create a healthy, comfortable settlement environment that supports residents’ social activities. Dony emphasised that this housing provision programme is a tangible manifestation of synergy among various parties in delivering solutions for the community while supporting better urban area planning. “The most important thing is that the community can live more safely, comfortably, and have a better quality of life,” said Dony. Through the completion of these 324 housing units, Dony continued, the community that previously lived in the railway-side area can obtain a more decent and safe residential environment. He hopes this programme will also reduce the risk of accidents along the railway line while supporting the creation of a more organised, inclusive, and sustainable urban area.
