JAKARTA - Pandu Sjahrir, the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Danantara, stated that the sovereign wealth fund’s investment strategy is not limited to state-owned enterprises (BUMN). Strong fundamental private stocks are also targeted for investment.

In an interview, Pandu explained that Danantara allocates 50 percent of its funds to public markets, including both BUMN and private companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). “We focus on companies with solid fundamentals, regardless of whether they are state-owned or private,” he said.

This diversification is part of Danantara’s broader mandate to manage Indonesia’s national assets effectively, aiming for optimal returns while supporting national development priorities. The inclusion of private sector investments is expected to enhance liquidity and attract more capital to the domestic market.
