Danantara Chief Opens Up About Not Being Listed in the 1% Share Ownership Register
Jakarta — The Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara (BPI Danantara) has spoken about the transparency of Danantara’s stake in several shares listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) that do not appear on the 1% ownership list.
Chief Investment Officer Pandu Sjahrir said that Danantara’s entry into the capital market was not made directly, but through an investment manager.
“We are active through third-party fund managers. For this year all our activities are through third-party fund managers who have been chosen for their strong track record, good service, and robust institutional capacity (including a strong back office),” he told CNBC Indonesia on Friday, 6 March 2026.
Pandu emphasised that Danantara’s presence is part of supporting Indonesia’s capital market because it has good prospects as an alternative funding source.
“We want the Indonesian capital market to deepen and achieve better liquidity and greater market transparency, and we also want more institutional investors to participate,” he said.
Pandu added that Danantara ensures the funds invested go into shares with solid fundamentals, good valuation and strong liquidity.
“We ask the selected fund managers to invest in shares with good fundamentals, good valuation and good liquidity,” he concluded.
