Danantara Chief Meets Moody's Executives in the United States to Discuss Credit Rating
The Chief Executive Officer of the State Investment Management Agency (Badan Pengelola Investasi) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara), Rosan Roeslani, held a meeting with Moody’s Ratings executives and philanthropist Chrissy Haslam in New York. Rosan was accompanied by Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Thomas Djiwandono and Deputy Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara.
According to Rosan’s social media post, he viewed the meeting as crucial for strengthening global understanding of Danantara’s direction and the foundation of Indonesia’s economic resilience.
“The meeting with Moody’s Ratings, including Chrissy Haslam in New York, is important in strengthening global understanding of Danantara’s institutional direction and the foundation of Indonesia’s economic resilience,” Rosan stated in his post on Thursday, 26 February 2026.
Rosan explained that Moody’s is an independent global rating agency that provides outlooks and ratings. According to him, Moody’s ratings and outlooks often serve as the primary reference for international investors in assessing macroeconomic stability, fiscal discipline, and governance quality.
During the meeting, Rosan stated that Moody’s noted several government commitments to maintaining national economic stability through synergies with monetary institutions.
“Moody’s noted Indonesia’s commitment to maintaining stability through synergies between Bank Indonesia, the Investment Ministry, and Danantara, with prudent, transparent, and measurable management, as the foundation for global market confidence,” he added.
For context, Danantara previously planned to request ratings from several global rating agencies. Currently, Danantara’s rating is equivalent to the government at several rating agencies.
Danantara has received a rating from domestic rating agency Pefindo, with an AAA rating for Patriot Bonds. Additionally, Danantara holds a stable BBB rating from Fitch Ratings.
Rosan stated that the agency will request ratings from two global rating agencies: Moody’s and S&P Global. Rosan noted that ratings from both agencies are still in the application process.
“We are in the process of obtaining ratings from S&P and Moody’s,” he explained at the Indonesia Economic Outlook event at Wisma Danantara on Friday, 13 February 2026.
