Danantara Chief Discusses Plan to Purchase 50 Boeing Aircraft with the United States
Investment and Downstreaming Minister/BKPM Chief and Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani has confirmed that Indonesia will proceed with plans to purchase 50 Boeing aircraft.
The plan forms part of a series of Indonesia-United States economic cooperation agreements discussed alongside the signing of the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART).
“On this occasion, as part of the Agreement on Reciprocal Tariffs, there are several activities involving the Ministry of Investment as well as Danantara. Among the agreements reached is a plan to purchase 50 Boeing aircraft,” Rosan said during a virtual press conference on Friday, 20 February 2026.
Rosan explained that the aircraft purchase plan would be discussed further with Boeing.
However, he did not elaborate on details such as the total purchase value, the types of aircraft to be acquired, or the timeline for purchase and delivery.
“We will discuss this with Boeing, although there have in fact already been preliminary talks with Boeing,” he said.
In addition, Rosan explained that Indonesia would import US crude oil valued at US$15 billion.
“We will continue with this, and there is also an opportunity to import gas and crude oil worth US$15 billion per year,” he affirmed.
