Danantara CEO Urges KAI to Focus on Evacuation and Handling of Train Collision
JAKARTA – CEO of Danantara Indonesia, Rosan Roeslani, expressed concern over the accident involving a KRL Commuter train and a Long-Distance Train (KAJJ) at Bekasi Timur Station, West Java. Rosan conveyed his deep condolences and sympathy for the incident at Bekasi Timur Station area.
“Our greatest sympathies to all passengers, families, and affected personnel,” Rosan stated in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday (27/4/2026).
Rosan stated that Danantara Indonesia is directing and coordinating with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) to focus on the evacuation process and on-site handling, prioritising first aid. This is the primary priority that must be undertaken.
“We will periodically provide updates on the handling process and ensure that the evacuation proceeds quickly and effectively,” Rosan said.
KAI reported that the operational accident in the Bekasi Timur Station area, Operations Region 1 Jakarta, has impacted train services. KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, expressed deep condolences for the incident.
“This situation brings sadness to customers and families awaiting news. Currently, all efforts are focused on evacuating and handling victims, with the primary priority being the safety and condition of every passenger,” Anne said.
Anne stated that all 240 passengers of the Argo Bromo Anggrek train have been successfully evacuated in safe condition. Meanwhile, handling is focused on the affected KRL passengers.
“To date, 38 KRL passengers have been taken to hospitals for further treatment. They were referred to several nearby health facilities, including RSUD Bekasi, Primaya Hospital Bekasi Timur, Mitra Plumbon Cibitung, and RSU Bella Bekasi,” Anne said.
In the handling process, Anne added, KAI, along with Basarnas, TNI, Polri, and medical teams, is moving quickly to provide assistance and ensure all victims receive treatment as soon as possible. KAI, continued Anne, extends apologies to all customers.
“We express our deepest condolences and apologies for this incident. Our current focus is to ensure all victims receive the best treatment. We understand the sadness felt by families and continue to coordinate with all relevant parties to ensure the handling process runs smoothly,” Anne said.
