JAKARTA – PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) will recruit foreign commodity trading experts to fill positions within the company. This move aims to strengthen national commodity trading business.

Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Danantara Indonesia, Pandu Sjahrir, stated that the recruitment of professional human resources for PT DSI is open both domestically and internationally.

Danantara is targeting global traders to join PT DSI, given the strategic and complex nature of the commodities traded.

‘Our recruitment is global in terms of human resources. It’s not just in Indonesia, it’s global across the board,’ Pandu said during the Economic Insight Series 2026 discussion at Mulia Senayan Hotel in Jakarta on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

According to Pandu, trader requirements in each sector are highly specific. In the coal sector, there are only around 2,000 global traders currently.

PT DSI aims to recruit experienced traders for the company.

‘Similarly for CPO, most traders are based both domestically and internationally. We need to recruit global talent,’ he added.

Besides commodity traders, PT DSI will also seek experts in trade financing, which, according to Pandu, is still dominated by foreign professionals.

‘For trade financing specifically, most of the talent is not in Indonesia but overseas. We need to recruit to transfer knowledge on commodity financing,’ he explained.

‘Of course, we will also try to recruit from state-owned enterprises (BUMNs) and existing human capital to learn together,’ Pandu concluded.
