JAKARTA — CEO of Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) Rosan Roeslani has responded to reports that the sovereign wealth fund will inject capital into PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA). Rosan did not deny the reports but stated that discussions with various parties are still ongoing.

"Let's discuss that later. We are still in discussions with all parties on the matter," said Rosan when met at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Thursday (22/5/2025).

He also declined to reveal plans being drawn up regarding the capital injection into the state-owned aviation company. He confirmed that deliberations are still underway.

"It's in progress, it's in progress, God willing," said the man who also serves as Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).

Separately, Rosan also did not deny reports regarding plans to lease Boeing aircraft to expand Garuda Indonesia's fleet. He said talks are still ongoing with the aircraft manufacturer.

"We are in the process of talking with them again," Rosan revealed.

Based on earlier reports, Rosan had conveyed the results of his discussions with President of Boeing Southeast Asia and Head of Government Relations Boeing, Penny Burrt. The former United States Ambassador emphasised that the meeting was more focused on discussing the continuation of strategic cooperation between Boeing and national carrier Garuda Indonesia.

"No, we were receiving the Boeing leadership from America and also the regional leadership. This is actually more about Boeing's readiness to cooperate with Garuda," he told reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex on Tuesday (20/5/2025).

Meanwhile, Garuda Indonesia President Director Wamildan Tsani has also spoken about rumours that Danantara will inject capital into the company. In a letter to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Wamildan stated that issues related to corporate actions involving Danantara Indonesia are entirely within the authority of shareholders and stakeholders.

"In response to reports regarding the exploration of corporate actions towards Garuda Indonesia by Danantara Indonesia, we can convey that in principle, policies and strategies regarding such corporate actions are entirely within the authority of shareholders," he said, as quoted on Wednesday (21/5/2025).
