Danantara CEO: Garuda-Saudi Airlines Joint Venture Still in Negotiation Stage
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Perkasa Roeslani spoke about the plan for Garuda Indonesia and Saudi Airlines to form a joint venture to strengthen Hajj pilgrim services. The request was made by President Prabowo Subianto during a briefing at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026). “Coincidentally, I was not there yesterday, I was abroad. But Garuda’s transformation continues to progress,” said Rosan after a working meeting with Commission XII of the House of Representatives at the DPR Building in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday (13/4/2026). The Investment Minister conveyed that Danantara is very open to any negotiations for cooperation with foreign airlines. According to Rosan, Danantara and Garuda Indonesia have held discussions not only with Saudi Airlines but also with Emirates and Etihad. “We have been negotiating with Saudi Airlines, Emirates, and even talked with Etihad to make us more efficient,” said Rosan.
