Rosan Roeslani, chief executive of Danantara Indonesia, said that Indonesia has become a new market for investment following the United States–Israel strikes on Iran, which have sparked a fresh crisis in the Middle East. Rosan added that every event can be viewed from another angle, including the possibility of opportunities. “From every event, we can look at it from a different angle, whether this creates a new opportunity,” Rosan told reporters at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 4 March. Rosan said the opportunity could lie in investment as well as trade. He added that Danantara would study the overall impact of the war. This statement was made after Rosan was summoned by President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace. He said the Iran–US–Israel conflict was among the topics discussed with Prabowo. “There will certainly be discussions with us as well, and we will study all of this. In this regard, from the perspective of investment and economic resilience, among other things,” he added. He noted that Prabowo and his colleagues, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, continue to monitor the developments of the conflict to ensure Indonesia’s economic growth. “Because investment makes a large contribution to our economy, so every day the President and his team monitor how to maintain growth and exports,” he said.
