The Investment Management Agency (BPI) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) has addressed rumours regarding its ownership of shares in a company providing online transportation services, or ride-hailing (ojol). Danantara is reportedly acquiring a portion of the shares in the ojol application company.

Danantara states that it is still examining various investment opportunities. However, every step taken is ensured to align with Danantara’s mandate to provide impact on the national economy.

“Danantara Indonesia continuously evaluates diverse opportunities to fulfil our mandate of delivering meaningful socio-economic impact for Indonesia,” stated the Danantara Indonesia Communications Team in a written statement on Monday (4/5/2026).

Danantara also rigorously assesses each opportunity based on strategic fit, fundamentals, and risk-return profile. Additionally, Danantara promotes the creation of long-term value in its investment steps.

“In accordance with the investment stages we have established,” it concluded.

Danantara Reportedly Buys Shares in Ride-Hailing App

For information, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad mentioned that BPI Danantara has purchased a portion of shares in the ride-hailing application company. Through this partial share purchase in the ride-hailing app, the system and policies of the app will be gradually and steadily adjusted.

Thus, the government can reduce the commission cuts to ojol drivers from 10-20% to 8%. This aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s desire for apps to slash the application fees on every ojol trip fare.

“The first thing is to then lower the fees taken by the apps. Previously 20% or 10%, so the apps will only take 8% of what is collected,” said Dasco when receiving an audience from a labour union alliance in the parliamentary complex, quoted from Antara, Friday (1/5/2026).

Then, on a separate occasion, Prabowo admitted to having signed Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 27 of 2026 to slash the income cuts taken by app companies from ojol drivers to 8%.

According to Prabowo, the revenue-sharing scheme that has been in place so far has not provided justice for the drivers. Therefore, this policy is taken to defend the rights of ojol drivers who work hard every day and risk their lives on the roads.

“I say here, I do not agree with 10%, it must be below 10%,” said Prabowo in his speech at the International Labour Day commemoration at the National Monument, Jakarta, Friday (1/5).
