PT Danantara Asset Management (DAM) officially signed a Share Purchase Agreement on 22 July 2026 to acquire PT Mandiri Manajemen Investasi (MMI), PT BRI Manajemen Investasi (BRI MI), PT BNI Asset Management (BNI AM), and PT PNM Investment Management (PNM IM). The signing marks the transfer of control of the four state-owned investment managers to DAM, a strategic step in strengthening the foundation of the national investment management industry to make it more competitive on a global scale. Collectively, the four companies recorded assets under management (AUM) exceeding Rp170 trillion as of June 2026. This scale of managed funds, combined with the experience, distribution networks, investment capabilities, and investor bases of each firm, is seen as a crucial strength for broadening public access to investment products and enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s investment management industry. Danantara Indonesia Chief Operating Officer Dony Oskaria stated that the acquisition is not merely a share purchase transaction but a major step towards building a new force in the national investment management industry. He confirmed that the four companies will be merged within a month to form the largest asset management company in Indonesia, as part of a streamlining process by Danantara. The consolidated entity will expand investment access for both retail and institutional investors while offering more competitive investment solutions. Hardiyanto Pilia, President Director of PT Mandiri Manajemen Investasi, noted that the consolidation would build a national investment institution with greater scale, capability, and governance, boosting investor confidence domestically and globally. In the retail segment, the merged company plans to develop thematic investment products and expand access through the Himbara bank network, capitalising on the growth of over 20 million Single Investor Identification (SID) accounts nationally. BRI Manajemen Investasi President Director Arief Budiman highlighted the strategic momentum to deepen retail market penetration, citing his firm’s AUM of Rp52.61 trillion and strong retail customer base. BNI Asset Management President Director Ari Adil emphasised the balanced retail and institutional business composition with an AUM of Rp29.59 trillion, while PNM Investment Management President Director Ade Santoso Djajanegara pointed to the firm’s experience in inclusive investment with an AUM of Rp10.31 trillion. The integration will proceed gradually, prioritising prudential principles, regulatory compliance, and service continuity for clients and business partners.
