Palembang (ANTARA) - The Danantara Investment Management Agency has checked the readiness of the waste-to-electricity processing project (PSEL) in Palembang, South Sumatra. Director of Investment at Danantara Investment Management, Fadli Rahman, after inspecting the PSEL Palembang project in Keramasan, Kertapati, Palembang, on Monday, stated that the inspection was based on direct instructions from President Prabowo to handle waste problems. He added that the inspection also serves as a quick action step by Danantara to implement Presidential Regulation No. 109 of 2025 on urban waste handling through waste processing into renewable energy based on environmentally friendly technology. “Palembang city is deemed ready for waste management control through the PSEL project,” he said. He further noted that the development of the PSEL Palembang project has been progressing very well so far, and he hopes it can become a sustainable waste management solution with a significant impact on environmental cleanliness and the community’s economy. During the inspection, he was accompanied by Palembang Mayor Ratu Dewa. On the same occasion, Ratu Dewa stated that the progress of the PSEL Palembang project construction has reached 81.94 percent as of March 2026. She mentioned that PSEL Palembang is targeted to operate in October 2026.
