Danantara Appoints Zhejiang Weiming as Operator for Bogor Raya Waste-to-Energy Project
Danantara Indonesia has announced the selected partner to manage the Waste-to-Energy (WtE) facility, or Waste-to-Electricity Processing System (PSEL), in Bogor Raya. Chief Investment Officer Pandu Sjahrir stated that the appointment of a managing partner represents an important milestone in the WtE programme, which aims to address waste management challenges by strengthening urban waste management systems and reducing dependence on final disposal facilities.
“Through a comprehensive partner selection process participated by several experienced international companies, Danantara Indonesia has appointed Zhejiang Weiming Environment Protection Co., Ltd. as the managing partner at the PSEL location in Bogor Raya,” said Pandu in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday (13 March 2026).
According to Presidential Regulation Number 109 of 2025, the managing partner is required to establish a consortium to promote technology transfer and closer collaboration with local government and Indonesian companies. Pandu stated that the Bogor Raya facility is being developed with strong operational reliability, responsible environmental management, and collaboration and technology transfer with local stakeholders.
“Danantara Indonesia consistently prioritises strong governance with transparent implementation processes based on risk mitigation,” he said.
Pandu noted that today’s signing represents an important step in realising integrated waste management solutions based on good governance and highest operational standards. He hopes the selected partner can maintain consistent operational performance, ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, and support community engagement initiatives.
“Danantara Indonesia is committed to promoting integrated waste management solutions that create long-term value for the environment and communities across various regions in Indonesia,” Pandu said.
