Jakarta — Danantara Indonesia, the state investment management body, has announced the selected partner to manage the Waste-to-Energy (WtE) facility for processing waste into electricity (PSEL) in the Greater Bogor region, West Java.

Through a selection process involving several experienced international companies, Danantara has appointed Zhejiang Weiming Environment Protection Co., Ltd. as the project operator for the PSEL facility in the region.

Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Danantara, Pandu Sjahrir, stated that the execution of this cooperation agreement represents an important step towards realising an integrated waste management system with sound governance and high operational standards.

“The selected partner is expected to maintain consistent operational performance, ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, and support engagement with surrounding communities,” said Pandu in an official statement in Jakarta on Saturday (14 March 2026).

Support for National Waste-to-Energy Programme

The appointment of the operator for the Bogor Raya facility aligns with the implementation of Presidential Regulation Number 109 of 2025, which promotes the acceleration of waste-to-energy processing programmes.

This step is considered a significant milestone in the Waste-to-Energy (WtE) programme initiated by Danantara to address urban waste challenges whilst reducing reliance on landfill sites.

“The operator partner is required to form a consortium to promote technology transfer and closer collaboration with regional government and Indonesian companies,” said Pandu.

Promoting Collaboration and Technology Transfer

In its development, the WtE facility in Greater Bogor will prioritise operational reliability, responsible environmental management, and collaboration with various local stakeholders.

This is also consistent with Danantara’s mandate to strengthen investments that provide long-term benefits to communities whilst supporting sustainable development.

Pandu emphasised that Danantara will continue to uphold strong governance principles at every stage of project implementation, including process transparency and risk mitigation.

“Danantara is committed to promoting integrated waste management solutions that create long-term value for the environment and communities across various regions,” he said.
