The assistance forms part of the nationwide programme “Light of Happiness for the Nation’s Generation of Hope,” launched to mark the first anniversary of Danantara Indonesia’s establishment. Under Danantara Indonesia’s coordination, this programme nationally reaches approximately 88,000 children across various regions of Indonesia through support from multiple state-owned enterprises (SOEs) integrated within the Danantara ecosystem.
West Kalimantan Assistance
In West Kalimantan, 2,500 school supply packages consisting of bags and writing materials were distributed to students across various regencies and municipalities. The symbolic presentation of assistance took place at SDN 68 Singkawang on Monday, 2 March 2026.
The head teacher of SDN 68 Singkawang, Uray Yuniarti, expressed appreciation for the attention given by Danantara Indonesia and PLN to the students. “We are grateful to Danantara Indonesia and PLN for selecting our school as a recipient of this assistance. We hope this aid will be beneficial and serve as encouragement for the children to continue learning and pursuing their aspirations,” she said.
South Papua Assistance
Assistance was also channelled to 500 students in South Papua. One student from SD Inpres Gudang Arang in Merauke, named Silvester, appeared delighted upon receiving bags and writing materials.
“I’m happy to have a new bag. Going to school feels more motivating for learning,” he said.
Wisye Misa, a teacher at SD Inpres Gudang Arang, also noted that the assistance was tremendously meaningful for the school’s students.
“We are very grateful and appreciative of this programme. Some of our children still lack school supplies, so this assistance is truly well-targeted. Our hope is that the children can make good use of this support and become increasingly motivated to learn,” said Wisye.
South-East Sulawesi Assistance
A similar programme was implemented in South-East Sulawesi with the distribution of 2,000 school supply packages. Syanafika, one recipient student from Yayasan Terpadu Al-Mutmainah Foundation in Buton, expressed happiness at receiving the assistance.
