Danantara Indonesia, the Investment Management Body for Anagata Nusantara, together with PT PLN (Persero), has distributed school supply packages to 5,000 children across West Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, and South Papua provinces. This assistance is part of the “Light of Joy for the Nation’s Hopeful Generation” programme, launched to commemorate Danantara Indonesia’s first anniversary.

“For PLN, bringing light is not only through electricity, but also through opportunities for young people to achieve a better future,” said PLN Chief Executive Officer Darmawan Prasodjo.

Prasodjo stated that PLN’s involvement in this programme represents the company’s commitment to providing wider benefits to society. This effort is realised through support for creating a better educational ecosystem for the nation’s future generation, in line with the vision of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita. “Through this programme, we want to ensure that Indonesian children have the support they need to continue learning and pursue their aspirations,” he said.

Prasodjo noted that support for education represents an important investment for the nation’s future. Therefore, PLN will continue to collaborate with various parties to implement social programmes that provide sustained benefits to society. “Education is the foundation of national progress. PLN will continue to be present through various social initiatives to support the emergence of an excellent, competitive Indonesian generation ready to face the future,” he said.

Under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia, the programme reaches 88,000 children across various regions of Indonesia through support from state-owned enterprises (SOEs) that form part of the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem. In West Kalimantan, 2,500 school supply packages consisting of bags and writing materials were distributed to students across various districts and cities. The symbolic handover took place at Singkawang State Elementary School No. 68 in West Kalimantan on Monday, 2 March 2026.

“We thank Danantara Indonesia and PLN for choosing our school as a recipient of this assistance,” said Uray Yuniarti, Principal of Singkawang State Elementary School No. 68. “We hope this assistance will be beneficial and motivate the children to continue learning and pursue their dreams,” she added.

In addition to West Kalimantan, 500 assistance packages were also distributed in South Papua. One of the students at Gudang Arang State Elementary School in Merauke, South Papua, Silvester, appeared delighted upon receiving the school supply package. The new bag he received became a fresh motivation for his school days. “I am happy to have a new bag. Going to school feels more motivating now,” said Silvester upon receiving the package on Tuesday, 3 March 2026.

This joy was also felt by Wisye Misa, a teacher at Gudang Arang State Elementary School in Merauke, South Papua, who expressed that this assistance is not merely new school supplies, but also serves as motivation for students to continue learning and pursue their dreams. “We are very grateful and thankful for this activity. Some of our children still lack school supplies, so this assistance truly hits the mark. Our hope is that the children can utilise this assistance well and be even more motivated to learn,” she said.

Additionally, 2,000 assistance packages were distributed in Southeast Sulawesi. One student from the Integrated Al-Mutmainah Foundation in Bau-Bau, Southeast Sulawesi, Syanafika, also benefited from the assistance provided by Danantara Indonesia and PLN. She expressed her happiness over the support, which has become new motivation for her to study harder. “Thank you to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, as well as Danantara Indonesia and PLN for the bags and writing materials provided to us,” she said upon receiving the package on Tuesday, 3 March 2026. “I promise to study earnestly in pursuit of my dreams,” she added.
