Danantara and PLN distribute 2,000 school supply packages in Southeast Sulawesi
Makassar — PT PLN (Persero) South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi and West Sulawesi Distribution Unit (UID Sulselrabar), together with Danantara, has distributed 2,000 school supply packages to primary school students in Southeast Sulawesi Province.
The distribution of assistance is part of the “Light of Happiness for the Generation of National Hope” programme, which is being implemented in phases beginning 3 March 2026 across various areas in Southeast Sulawesi.
PLN UID Sulselrabar General Manager Edyansyah stated in Makassar on Wednesday that the programme forms part of PLN’s commitment to supporting the improvement of human resource quality through the education sector.
“PLN does not only provide electricity to the community, but also wishes to ignite hope for the generation of the future,” he said.
“Through this school supply assistance, we hope to provide motivation for children to continue learning, achieving excellence, and becoming a generation capable of building the nation,” he added.
The programme is part of the Danantara Indonesia national movement, which is distributing 88,000 school supply packages to children across all provinces in Indonesia. This initiative represents a collective commitment from state-owned enterprises to support improved access to education and foster a spirit of learning among the next generation.
During this initiative, President Prabowo Subianto also conveyed a message to Indonesian children to continue instilling positive values from an early age.
The schools targeted are located in areas where infrastructure conditions and educational support facilities remain limited. The distribution of assistance will continue in phases until reaching a total of 2,000 school supply packages for students in Southeast Sulawesi Province.
The recipients of the assistance expressed their gratitude. Syahnafika (12), a student at the Al Mutmainnah Buton Integrated Foundation, expressed her appreciation after receiving new learning materials.
“I would like to thank President Prabowo Subianto, Danantara and PLN for providing free school supplies. I am very happy because I now have new writing materials such as a bag, pens and books for studying,” she said.
