Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the State-Owned Enterprise Management Agency (BP BUMN) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara Indonesia, Dony Oskaria, alongside the Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, are focusing on accelerating the construction of ‘Sekolah Rakyat’ to ensure projects are well-targeted, high-quality, and beneficial to the wider community.

“The synergy between BP BUMN, Danantara, and the Ministry of Public Works is part of the government’s commitment to providing inclusive, equitable, and accessible educational facilities for people in every corner of the country,” Dony stated in a press release received in Jakarta on Thursday.

Dony and Dody discussed accelerating the completion of the ‘Sekolah Rakyat’ projects, strengthening coordination between the government and state-owned construction enterprises (BUMN Karya), supporting legal and institutional aspects, and ensuring construction quality meets established standards.

Dony Oskaria, who also serves as the COO of Danantara Indonesia, emphasised that this collaboration is not merely about constructing buildings, but about building the future of Indonesia’s human resources.

Meanwhile, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo welcomed the collaboration, stating that his ministry is prepared to deploy necessary resources to ensure the effective development of the ‘Sekolah Rakyat’.

“The construction of ‘Sekolah Rakyat’ requires careful consideration of technical aspects on the ground, ranging from child-friendly and earthquake-resistant building designs to adequate utility access. The target is for the community to be able to utilise these projects as soon as possible,” said Dody.

Through the collaboration between BP BUMN, Danantara Indonesia, and the Ministry of Public Works, the programme is expected to reduce school dropout rates and enhance the quality of life for citizens throughout Indonesia.
