Danantara Indonesia, through PT Danantara Asset Management (DAM), has officially taken over four state-owned investment management companies following the signing of a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) for PT Mandiri Manajemen Investasi (MMI), PT BRI Manajemen Investasi (BRI MI), PT BNI Asset Management (BNI AM), and PT PNM Investment Management (PNM IM). With the signing, control of the four companies has officially transferred to DAM. Collectively, the four investment managers oversee assets under management (AUM) worth more than Rp170 trillion as of June 2026. Danantara Indonesia Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dony Oskaria stated that this acquisition is not merely a share purchase transaction, but part of a strategy to build a stronger and more competitive investment management institution at the national level. He noted that the four companies possess complementary track records, networks, and capabilities. All these strengths will be integrated through improved strategy and governance to enhance competitiveness while providing added value for the Indonesian economy. As a follow-up, Danantara is targeting the merger process of the four companies to be completed within the next month. Once the consolidation is finalised, the new entity is projected to become the largest asset management company in Indonesia. Dony explained that this move is part of the streamlining programme being undertaken by Danantara Indonesia to improve efficiency and strengthen business capacity. Through an integrated business model, the merged company is expected to broaden investment access for both retail and institutional investors, while delivering more competitive investment products and solutions tailored to evolving market needs. Furthermore, this consolidation aims to combine the experience, expertise, and advantages of each company to form an institution with greater business scale, capability, and competitiveness in the national asset management industry.
