Danantara Accelerates Waste-to-Energy Transformation Through New DPT
PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM), through its subsidiary PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Denera), has reopened registration for its selected provider list (DPT) to accelerate the transformation of waste management into energy by attracting strategic national and international partners. DIM Investment Director and Denera CEO Fadli Rahman stated that expanding the DPT is part of Danantara’s commitment to building a strong and competitive partner ecosystem to support Indonesia’s long-term waste management transformation. “The challenge of waste management in Indonesia cannot be solved solely through individual projects. A credible partner ecosystem is needed, possessing technology, funding capacity, operational capability, and long-term commitment to execute projects on a large scale,” Fadli said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. The development of waste-to-energy (WtE) projects in Indonesia is entering its next phase with the reopening of DPT registration by DIM through Denera. “This DPT registration is a pre-qualification process within Danantara’s WtE or waste-to-energy (PSEL) programme,” he said. As Indonesia accelerates efforts to address urban waste management challenges while building a cleaner energy mix, Denera was established by DIM as an integrated waste management company to lead the development and implementation of PSEL projects nationwide. The initiative is underpinned by Presidential Regulation No. 109 of 2025, which provides the regulatory foundation for accelerating PSEL project development through environmentally friendly technology. The DPT registration continues the positive momentum built through two previous pre-qualification rounds, which successfully attracted participation from companies across seven countries and demonstrated high international interest in Indonesia’s WtE sector. DIM and Denera are inviting companies or consortium members with capabilities and track records in PSEL project development, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), technology provision, operations and maintenance (O&M), project financing, and other related infrastructure services to participate in this selection process. The programme aims to attract partners with the technical expertise, funding capacity, and long-term commitment required to realise large-scale PSEL projects supporting sustainable waste management transformation and clean energy transition in Indonesia. Fadli added that through the DPT registration, the company is expanding this ecosystem while opening opportunities for more national and international businesses to bring their best experience and capabilities to Indonesia’s PSEL programme. “Our priority remains the same: strong partnerships, proven capabilities, and execution that delivers real impact on the ground,” Fadli emphasised. PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF) has been appointed as the registration and verification agent for the DPT registration process. Interested parties are expected to contact IIF via the official DPT registration email address at danantara.wtepartnership@iif.co.id. IIF will provide a registration pack and guidance on the DPT registration process, including expression of interest (EOI) requirements, mandatory supporting documents, document submission procedures, implementation schedules, and access to a virtual data room.
