Danantara accelerates digital transformation of SOEs to boost competitiveness
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Danantara Indonesia is accelerating digital transformation across the entire SOE ecosystem to drive the industrialisation of digital products.
Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Danantara, Sigit Puji Santosa, led the Coordination Meeting on SOE Digital Transformation attended by around 60 major SOE holding companies.
The digital transformation promoted by Danantara encompasses comprehensive strengthening of business models, customer experience, operational models, technology infrastructure, as well as governance and data utilisation.
“With a more comprehensive and integrated approach, which impacts the operational level of SOEs, Danantara Indonesia aims to ensure that digital transformation does not stop at the planning level, but produces real performance improvements in each SOE,” said Sigit in his statement in Jakarta on Friday.
Through the integration of platforms and technologies, as well as the utilisation of shared capabilities, the SOE digital transformation is also directed towards strengthening synergies among SOEs.
In certain areas with high levels of duplication, such as technology procurement, digital infrastructure, licences, and shared services, synergies are expected to generate efficiencies with an initial estimate of 25-40 percent. This depends on the characteristics and readiness of each SOE.
During the Coordination Meeting, Sigit emphasised the importance of a coordinated digital transformation approach across the entire SOE ecosystem.
“Danantara Indonesia has a central role in aligning directions, platforms, talent, and governance so that every digital initiative in SOEs does not run separately, but can produce efficiency, performance improvements, and collective added value for the country. This alignment becomes an important foundation for strengthening the competitiveness of SOEs amid rapidly changing technology and industry dynamics,” he explained.
Danantara also views the rapid development of technology, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), Advanced Analytics, Post-Quantum Readiness, and cyber security, as demanding SOE readiness to adapt as quickly as possible.
This forum serves as an initial step in formulating the direction and process of adopting frontier technologies (future technologies) as part of a strategy to increase productivity, improve decision-making quality, and create new innovations relevant to industry needs.
The development of digital human resources (HR) also became a main agenda of the meeting, considering that Indonesia needs an additional around 600,000 digital talents per year until 2030.
Using the triple helix model, Danantara is strengthening relationships between industry, government, and academia in efforts to accelerate talent development, research, and the commercialisation of national innovations.
In addition, Danantara is also promoting the development of domestic strategic technologies such as sovereign AI, sovereign cloud, and other future technologies to strengthen national capabilities.
The development of these technologies is expected not only to increase productivity and performance in the SOE ecosystem, but overall also to strengthen Indonesia Inc, through increased collaboration between Danantara Indonesia and the SOE ecosystem within it, the government, academia, and other industry players.
Digital transformation will be implemented in stages, starting with measuring the digital readiness of all SOEs and building the foundation for collaboration in the first six months.
This process will continue with the implementation of an integrated digital roadmap through the Danantara Digital Transformation Task Force as a joint governance mechanism, from the Danantara Indonesia level to all SOEs.
Through this mechanism, the implementation of transformation can be monitored more clearly, measurably, and accountably, while opening up space for mutual assistance in important areas.
