Jakarta (ANTARA) — Danantara Indonesia, through PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM) and PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Denera), has appointed 34 financial institutions to a lenders’ panel for the Waste-to-Energy (PSEL) programme.

Danantara said the panel could grow further as projects develop and financing needs evolve.

“Appointing 34 financial institutions to the lenders’ panel is an important milestone in preparing financing for the PSEL programme,” DIM Managing Director for Investment Stefanus Ade Hadiwidjaja said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

The 34 appointed members include international project finance institutions with cross-border financing experience, multilateral development banks, bilateral development finance institutions, infrastructure finance institutions and climate fund managers.

The panel also includes major domestic banks, among them state-owned banks (Himbara) and national private commercial banks, as well as international banks operating in Indonesia and Islamic banks.

The lenders’ panel is a group of prospective lenders and financing partners established to support funding for the PSEL project pipeline developed by DIM through Denera, in carrying out the mandate set out in Presidential Regulation No. 109 of 2025.

Through the panel, DIM and Denera will map financial institutions’ interest and financing capacity at both portfolio and individual-project levels before formal financing processes begin.

The information will provide a basis for exploring suitable funding structures, including loan types and tenors, non-cash facilities and other financing solutions.

Danantara said a key outcome of establishing the panel was indicative financing interest exceeding three times the programme’s estimated debt requirement. It said the figure reflected strong interest from domestic and international financial institutions in financing opportunities under the PSEL programme.

Indicative values provide an initial picture of interest and funding capacity. All financing plans will remain subject to evaluation and credit approval processes in accordance with applicable rules.

“Indicative financing interest exceeding three times the estimated debt requirement shows the scale of potential support from the financing market. Through this panel, we can map prospective lenders’ capacity and interest and explore funding structures suited to each project’s needs,” Stefanus said.

Denera Chief Financial Officer M. Ramadhan Harahap thanked the financial institutions selected for the panel and said he hoped their collaboration would help ensure the smooth preparation of financing for PSEL projects.

“We appreciate the participation and trust of the financial institutions that have joined Denera’s PSEL lenders’ panel. We hope this collaboration will develop well and provide a foundation for productive cooperation in supporting the development of our PSEL projects,” Ramadhan said.

PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF) was appointed by DIM and Denera as financial adviser and consultant for the formation of the lenders’ panel.

Danantara said the process of forming the panel began in July 2026, with an open announcement and direct invitations to domestic and international financial institutions.

Applications were then assessed on the basis of financial capacity, financing experience and execution capability, flexibility, and strategic fit with the PSEL programme’s needs.

Each financing arrangement will remain subject to a feasibility assessment, due diligence, the respective institution’s internal approvals and fulfilment of applicable requirements.
