Dana extends lead with 10-under

JAKARTA (JP): Dana Mahmud from Pantai Indah Kapuk Golf Club, North Jakarta, retained the lead with a 10-under 134 (66, 68) after two days of play in the Pemuda Pancasila Cup IV at the Matoa Nasional Golf Club, Ciganjur, South Jakarta, on Wednesday.

Opening the day with a 6-under 66, Dana carded 35 in the front nine with a birdie in the par-5 3rd and 8 more pars. He went home with four birdies and a bogey to better his score to 33, to make it 4-under 68.

Two shots shy from Dana, second place was shared by I Ketut Sugiartha of Modern Golf Club and Denny Supriadi from Sawangan Golf club, each with an identical 136 (67, 69). Sugiartha surged from tied third place on Tuesday's first round after carding a 67 for a 6-under 136 (69, 67).

Denny kept his number-two position after carding a poor 69 on Wednesday after a 67 on Tuesday. Denny went out for a par-36 after birdieing the 5th and scored a bogey on the 7th. He went home with a fine four birdies and a bogey for 33, to make 69.

The field of 91 players, including 12 amateurs, was reduced to 34 pros and an amateur at 147, who have the right to vie for the Rp 250 million cash prize on offer for the pros. -- JP
