DAMRI says fuel shortages are disrupting service operations
DAMRI apologised to all its customers for the inconvenience caused by fuel shortages in several areas.
Karawang (ANTARA) – State-owned bus operator Perum DAMRI said fuel shortages in several areas were affecting the smooth operation of its services.
“DAMRI apologises to all customers for the inconvenience caused by fuel shortages in several areas,” Head of Corporate Communication Niken Pratiwi Syah Putri Distian said in a statement received in Karawang, West Java, on Sunday.
Reports from several branch offices indicated that 16 areas had reported fuel shortages. These included Greater Jakarta, Lampung, Jambi, Pangkalpinang, Medan, Denpasar and Surabaya.
Other areas reporting shortages were Manado, Kupang, Makassar, Mamuju, Manokwari, Jayapura, Sorong, South Sorong and Mimika.
Niken said the company was continuing to monitor developments to anticipate any potential impact on fleet operations and passengers’ journeys.
“We are continuing to coordinate with Pertamina and relevant stakeholders to secure the fuel needed for fleet operations,” she said.
DAMRI is also conducting regular monitoring so that potential effects on services can be anticipated and addressed according to conditions on the ground.
The company urged passengers to check DAMRI’s official communication channels before travelling, particularly for the latest information on schedules and service operations.
“If there are any service adjustments, information will be provided through the company’s official channels,” she said.
