DAMRI reopens Kalianda-Jakarta route from 21 August 2026
Perum DAMRI is reopening its intercity transport service on the Kalianda-Jakarta route via the Trans-Sumatra highway starting 21 August 2026, providing a direct transport alternative for residents of South Lampung travelling to Banten, Tangerang, and Jakarta.
The service offers fares starting from Rp215,000 with several destination options, while connecting Kalianda and Tanjung Karang Railway Station with a number of strategic points on Java.
The route from Lampung to Jakarta covers Tanjung Karang Railway Station, Kalianda, Rumah Makan Siang Malam, Hatta Village, the DAMRI Serang ticket counter, Poris Terminal, BSD Terminal, and Gambir Railway Station.
Buses from Tanjung Karang Railway Station to Serang, Poris, BSD, and Gambir are scheduled to depart at 09.00 WIB. Departures from Kalianda are available at 10.30 WIB.
For residents of Kalianda, the passenger service point is located at the DAMRI ticket counter in the Taman Edukasi area, next to the South Lampung Military Police office.
In terms of fares, travel from Tanjung Karang Railway Station, Hatta, or Kalianda to Gambir is set at Rp255,000. Travel to Serang, Poris, or BSD is charged from Rp215,000.
The service is equipped with facilities to support passenger comfort during long-distance travel. Buses use a 2-2 reclining seat configuration, air conditioning, a toilet, charging sockets, and CCTV cameras. Passengers also receive snacks and mineral water during the journey.
South Lampung Regency Regional Secretary Supriyanto said the reopening of the route is part of efforts by the South Lampung Regency Government together with DAMRI to improve transport services for the public.
“The South Lampung Regency Government together with DAMRI continues to make efforts to improve services to the public. Therefore, this route from Jakarta to Lampung via Kalianda has been reopened,” Supriyanto said in Kalianda on Friday.
According to him, the return of the DAMRI service provides a wider range of land transport options for the public, while strengthening South Lampung’s connectivity with a number of strategic areas on Java.
Supriyanto expressed hope that the collaboration between the South Lampung Regency Government and DAMRI can provide broader benefits, not only in supporting public mobility but also in developing the tourism sector and regional economic activity.
“It is hoped that this service can improve regional connectivity, support the development of the tourism sector, and at the same time encourage economic growth in South Lampung Regency,” he said.
With the resumption of the Kalianda-Jakarta route, South Lampung residents now have a land travel option connecting the Kalianda and Tanjung Karang areas with a number of activity centres in Banten, Tangerang, and Jakarta.
The presence of the service is expected to further ease public mobility while strengthening interregional connectivity amid rising demand for intercity transport.
