DAMRI Employees Stage Protest at Gambir This Morning, Expect Traffic Congestion

JAKARTA — A demonstration will be held in the Central Jakarta area on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

The Public Relations Officer of the Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Iptu Erlyn Sumantri, stated that the demonstration will take place around Medan Merdeka Barat Street and Patung Kuda in Gambir.

“At 09:00 WIB there will be a protest from the DAMRI Employees Union Central Leadership Board,” said Erlyn in her written statement.

Approximately 481 combined police personnel have been deployed to secure this demonstration.

Meanwhile, traffic management measures at the protest site will be implemented situationally, taking into account the number of demonstrators on the ground.

Erlyn urged the public to avoid the demonstration area to anticipate traffic congestion.

“Residents can find alternative routes whilst the protest is ongoing,” she said.
