JAKARTA - As part of supporting low-emission public transport, DAMRI stated that 316 electric buses are operational in Jakarta this year.

DAMRI’s Director of Technical and Facilities, Arifin, said the implementation of electric vehicles began in 2020 through trials as part of accelerating the Battery-Based Electric Vehicle (KBLBB) program.

“Implementing electric buses is not just about changing vehicle technology, but also operational ecosystem readiness, charging infrastructure, workforce preparedness, and evolving public mobility patterns,” he said in a statement on Friday, 29 May 2026.

Arifin added that DAMRI continues to adjust to ensure low-emission transport implementation runs optimally and sustainably.

Through electric bus development and public transport service integration, DAMRI supports creating a more efficient, integrated, and environmentally friendly mobility system.

As a national electric bus operator, DAMRI continues to strengthen low-emission transport implementation through electric bus fleets integrated with urban transport services.

“Looking ahead, DAMRI will continue to support the development of a modern public transport ecosystem through adaptive technology implementation, service quality improvements, and strengthening low-emission transport to deliver safe, comfortable, and sustainable mobility for the public,” Arifin said.

In line with these efforts, Arifin added that ecosystem support, policies, and various stimuli to accelerate sustainable public transport electrification are also expected to be further strengthened.
