Jayapura — The Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force (ODC) has arrested five members of the armed separatist group KKB who were serving as suppliers of logistics and ammunition in Nabire, Papua Tengah Province.

According to Kombes Yusuf Sutejo, Head of Public Relations for the Damai Cartenz Task Force, the five KKB members were arrested at different locations along the Trans Nabire-Paniai road on Friday.

The five KKB members arrested were subordinates of Aibon Kogoya. Initially, on Tuesday (10 March), the ODC task force arrested individuals identified as PW (also known as PM) and PNW.

PW, also known as PM, was found to have met twice with Aibon Kogoya’s group to deliver food supplies at two different locations.

On Wednesday (11 March), the ODC team secured two other individuals, YW (28) and LW (29), who were travelling on a black Honda Verza motorcycle to deliver food supplies to the KKB group led by Aibon Kogoya.

The team also secured D (also known as LA), who is suspected of serving as a liaison in distributing ammunition to Aibon Kogoya’s group at an entertainment venue in Nabire, according to Kombes Yusuf.

During interrogation, D admitted to previously selling approximately 100 rounds of ammunition to an individual with initials SP at a price of around Rp250,000 per round.

The sale was conducted through an intermediary named H, who is suspected of being the person providing the ammunition.

“The team is currently conducting further investigation to uncover the full extent of this matter,” said Kombes Yusuf Sutejo, Head of Public Relations for the Damai Cartenz Task Force.
