Damai Cartenz Task Force Arrests Firearms Supplier to KKB Network in Sarmi
Jayapura (ANTARA) - The Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force has arrested YK (52), who is suspected of acting as a distributor of firearms and ammunition to the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) network in the Papua Highlands.
Head of Public Relations for the Damai Cartenz Task Force, Kombes Yusuf Sutejo, stated in Jayapura on Sunday that YK was arrested on Saturday (6/6) at approximately 13:16 WIT in the Sarmi Central Market area, Sarmi Regency, Papua, after personnel received information regarding his presence at the location.
He explained that the arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into the network of firearms and ammunition suppliers providing supplies to the KKB in Yalimo and Yahukimo. This law enforcement operation began last March. Since then, Damai Cartenz Task Force personnel have arrested several individuals playing different roles within the network, ranging from financiers and buyers to ammunition providers and transaction intermediaries.
