Damaged Roads in Otista and Ir H Juanda, Ciputat, Pose Accident Risk
SOUTH TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - Police have mapped several accident-prone areas due to damaged and potholed roads in the Ciputat area, South Tangerang City.
“We are re-mapping road sections that have been damaged and have the potential to cause traffic accidents,” said Ciputat Timur Police Chief, Bambang Askar Sodiq, when confirmed by Kompas.com, Thursday (26/2/2026).
Several locations are of concern, including Jalan Otista Raya, specifically at the roundabout in front of RS Sari Asih Hospital, in front of Cimanggis Market, and the roundabout in front of the UI Complex.
Meanwhile, Jalan Ir H Juanda, from the traffic light (TL) at Pasar Situ Gintung to in front of the UIN Jakarta Campus, is categorised as a blackspot or accident-prone area in both directions.
“This blackspot is due to the fact that, according to our data, this area often experiences traffic accidents,” he said.
Bambang added that this mapping is being carried out to prevent traffic accidents in line with the increasing mobility of the community during Ramadan and in the lead-up to Eid al-Fitr.
“We are prioritising prevention efforts, especially during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 H and in preparation for Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026,” said Bambang.
The results of this mapping will be used as material for evaluation and coordination with relevant agencies, Bambang added.
