The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has repaired the damaged road on Jalan Raya Dewi Sartika, Ciputat, South Tangerang City (Tangsel). The potholed road had previously drawn complaints from motorists.

“We carried out the road repair work on Friday night,” said Sutrato, Field Supervisor of the Banten National Road Implementation Unit, on Monday (15/6/2026).

Based on photographs provided, workers repaired the road on Friday (12/6) evening. Initially, they chiselled the road surface to tidy up the potholed and uneven sections. The spot was then coated with asphalt and levelled.

The Banten National Road Implementation Unit also attached photographs of the road’s condition after the repairs. The holes and uneven surfaces were no longer visible.

“The repair was carried out using hot asphalt patching,” he stated.

Previously, Jalan Dewi Sartika in Ciputat had been the subject of complaints by road users. Damage and potholes at several points triggered congestion and disrupted driving comfort.

Based on observations at the location on Wednesday (10/6), the road surface was visibly potholed in several sections. Both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicle riders were forced to reduce speed when passing to avoid the dangerous holes.

The most visible damage was on the stretch after the Ciputat flyover heading towards Jalan RE Martadinata. At that point, vehicles often slowed down to avoid the potholes, causing traffic to back up and creating long queues.
