Damaged road in Bojongsari causes riders to fall; Depok PUPR promises repairs
Damaged Cinangka Raya Road, Serua, Bojongsari, Depok City, West Java (Jawa Barat), has caused many motorcyclists to fall. The Depok Public Works and Public Housing Agency (Dinas PUPR) said it would repair the road promptly. Video footage circulating on social media shows the road surface damaged at several points, with the asphalt worn away and potholes forming. Vehicles were travelling at low speeds. Some motorcyclists also reported damaged tyres after traversing the road. It is reported that many riders fell due to the potholes. In one video, a motorcyclist is seen being assisted by residents at the roadside after the fall; the rear wheel rim on the motorcycle also shattered after hitting a pothole. When contacted for confirmation, Acting head of the Depok PUPR, Yodi Joko, said the authorities would follow up on the damaged road soon. “Will be followed up immediately,” Yodi Joko told reporters on Thursday, 5 March 2026. He noted the potholes were caused by drainage problems and asphalt that is prone to flooding during the rainy season. “There seems to be an issue with drainage; asphalt is indeed vulnerable to waterlogging,” he concluded.
