A bridge damaged by a foundation collapse due to water erosion in Cipayung, Depok, has begun undergoing repairs. The damaged bridge has been completely dismantled.

Heavy equipment was observed at the bridge project site on Monday (6/7/2026). The bridge deck and foundation have been removed. Excavation for a new foundation was also visible on the riverbank. Traffic from Jalan Pemuda Kampung Pulo towards Jalan Raya Cipayung and Jalan Raya Citayam has been temporarily closed due to the bridge works.

Motorists from the Tugu Macan direction, who would normally use Jalan Pemuda Kampung Pulo to reach Citayam Station and Citayam Market or vice versa, must seek alternative routes during the repairs. Head of the Depok City Public Works and Spatial Planning Department, Yodi Joko Bintoro, stated that work on the bridge began on 12 June and is targeted for completion on 9 September 2026, spanning 90 days. The budget ceiling allocated is Rp 710 million.

“This bridge has a width of between 5 and 10 metres with 2-metre approaches on each side and a length of 10.10 metres,” he said, as quoted from the official Depok City Government website.

Cipayung Jaya Village Head, Susniawati, said the area will be affected by a toll road project and an underpass or flyover will be built. She expressed gratitude that the damaged bridge is still being repaired despite the toll road plans.

“Indeed, it will become a toll road crossing, there is likely to be an underpass or flyover, but I have not yet received definite information from the toll road operator. What is clear is that the current needs of residents are very urgent and the bridge must be replaced,” she said.

Previously, the bridge foundation in Kampung Pulo, Cipayung, Depok, had been damaged since early 2026. Observations on Tuesday (24/2) at 10.00 WIB showed part of the bridge was cordoned off with wood and bamboo to prevent cars from crossing. The foundation on one side beneath the bridge had shifted, and the bridge deck on the Kampung Pulo side appeared to have subsided. The bridge serves as an access route for residents from Cipayung to Bedahan in Sawangan, Depok, as well as Bojong Gede and Tajur Halang in Bogor, heading to Citayam Station. The bridge is often congested with vehicles during the morning commute and evening rush hour.
